Pebbel highly values your privacy. Therefore, we process only data that we need for (improving) our services and handle the information we have collected about you and your use of our services with care. We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.
This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services of Pebbel made available thereon. The effective date of these terms is 01/05/2024; upon the publication of a new version, the validity of all previous versions expires. This privacy policy describes what data about you is collected by us, what this data is used for, and with whom and under what conditions this data may be shared with third parties. We also explain to you how we store your data, how we protect your data against misuse, and what rights you have regarding the personal data you have provided to us.

Regarding data processing
Below you can read how we process your data, where we store it (or have it stored), which security techniques we use, and who has access to the data.
Webshop software ( Shopify)
Our webshop is developed using Shopify software. Personal data that you provide to us for the purpose of our services is shared with this party. Shopify has access to your data to provide us with (technical) support; they will never use your data for any other purpose. Based on the agreement we have concluded with them, Shopify is obliged to take appropriate security measures. These security measures consist of the application of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Shopify is a certified processor of credit card data. Shopify uses cookies to collect technical information regarding your use of the software; no personal data is collected and/or stored. Shopify reserves the right to share collected data within its own group of companies to further improve the service. Shopify complies with the applicable statutory retention periods for (personal) data. The EU/US Privacy Shield applies; your data may be processed in the United States.
Web hosting ( Shopify)
We purchase web hosting and email services from Shopify. Shopify processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this party may collect metadata regarding the use of the services. This is not personal data. Shopify has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent the loss and unauthorized use of your personal data. Shopify is bound by a confidentiality agreement.
Email and mailing lists ( Shopify)
We use Shopify's services for our regular business email correspondence. This party has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent misuse, loss, and corruption of your and our data as much as possible. Shopify does not have access to our mailbox, and we treat all our email correspondence confidentially.
Payment processors ( Klarna & Shopify Payments)
To process (part of) the payments in our webshop, we use the Klarna platform. Klarna processes your name, address, and place of residence details, as well as your payment details, such as your bank account or credit card number. Klarna has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Klarna reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and, in that context, to share (anonymized) data with third parties. In the case of an application for deferred payment (credit facility), Klarna shares personal data and information regarding your financial position with credit rating agencies. All safeguards mentioned above regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to those parts of Klarna's services for which it engages third parties. Klarna does not retain your data longer than permitted by statutory time limits.

We collect reviews via the WebwinkelKeur platform. If you leave a review via WebwinkelKeur, you are required to provide a name and email address. WebwinkelKeur shares this data with us so that we can link the review to your order. In some cases, WebwinkelKeur may contact you to provide clarification on your review. In the event that we invite you to leave a review, we share your name and email address with WebwinkelKeur. They use this data solely for the purpose of inviting you to leave a review. WebwinkelKeur has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. WebwinkelKeur reserves the right to engage third parties for the purpose of providing the services; we have given WebwinkelKeur permission to do so. Shipping and logistics ( PostNL)
When you place an order with us, it is our responsibility to have your package delivered to you. We use the services of PostNL to carry out deliveries. To do so, it is necessary for us to share your name, address, and city/town details with PostNL. PostNL uses this data solely for the purpose of fulfilling the agreement. In the event that PostNL engages subcontractors, PostNL will also make your data available to these parties.
General purpose of the processing
We use your data exclusively for the purpose of providing our services. This means that the purpose of the processing is always directly related to the assignment you provide. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share data with us and we use this data to contact you at a later time—other than at your request—we will ask for your explicit permission to do so. Your data will not be shared with third parties, except to comply with accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound to confidentiality pursuant to the agreement between them and us, or by an oath or legal obligation.
Automatically collected data
Data automatically collected by our website is processed for the purpose of further improving our services. This data (for example, your IP address, web browser, and operating system) is not personal data.
Cooperation with tax and criminal investigations
In certain cases, Pebbel may be required by law to share your data in connection with tax or criminal investigations by government authorities. In such a case, we are compelled to share your data, but we will resist this within the limits of the law.
Retention periods
We retain your data for as long as you are a client of ours. This means that we keep your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you inform us of this, we will also interpret this as a request to be forgotten. This also means that we will not retain your data for longer than two years from the last contact moment or transaction, unless there is a legal justification for doing so. Based on applicable administrative obligations, we are required to retain invoices containing your (personal) data; we will therefore retain this data for the duration of the applicable period. However, employees will no longer have access to your client profile and documents that we have created in connection with your order.

Right of objection and other rights
In appropriate cases, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of Pebbel. If you object, we will immediately cease data processing pending the handling of your objection. If your objection is well-founded, we will make copies and/or duplicates of the data that we process (or have processed) available to you and subsequently permanently cease processing. Furthermore, you have the right not to be subjected to automated individual decision-making or profiling. We do not process your data in such a way that this right applies.
